The program behind our setups

Edge, North's dual-price program, on Payanywhere.

Edge is a unique program that supports a dual-price model for all goods and services. It's the program FeeSlicers sets up for every merchant we work with, and it runs on the Payanywhere app and devices. Here's exactly what it is and what comes with it.

Card$3.12
Cash$3.00

Two minutes to start. No obligation. George takes it from there.

Give your customers options on how they pay.

That's North's own one-line summary of Edge, and it's accurate. Every item in your business carries two prices: a card price, also called the non-cash price, and a cash price. North's example is a $3.00 item that's $3.12 on a card.

The card price is about 4% higher than the cash price. Seen from the other direction, the cash price is about 3.85% below the card price — the same gap, measured from the card side. That one rule holds at every ticket size, and it's the same for credit and debit. Every card pays the card price; cash pays the cash price.

Card-brand rules and your state's law say how those prices must be posted. The card price is always shown. See what your state requires before you print a menu.

What comes with the program.

Signs, in two languages

North supplies the customer notice — "Items have both a cash and a non-cash price" — in English and Spanish. You keep it visible at the point of sale so customers know before they pay.

A terminal that shows both totals

Edge runs in the Payanywhere app on every Payanywhere Smart device, and on certain cash-discount-ready traditional terminals. Ring the sale once; the device shows the card total and the cash total.

Receipts that show the price paid

The customer's receipt shows what they paid, card price or cash price. No extra line for the difference.

The Payanywhere app: three ways to run it.

Pick the mode that fits how your business sells. George sets it up with you.

Terminal mode

The straightforward one: key in an amount, take the payment. A good fit for service businesses and anyone who doesn't need an item catalog on the device.

Retail mode

Inventory, discounts, invoices, pre-authorizations and customer profiles. Built for shops that sell from a shelf.

Quick Service mode

Kitchen printers and kitchen display, plus dine-in, to-go and pickup orders. Built for counters that feed people.

Across modes you also get offline payments, tips, open tabs and barcode scanning.

Payments Hub, included.

Every account comes with Payments Hub, North's online back office. From a browser you get:

  • Reporting and your statements online
  • A virtual terminal for phone and mail orders
  • Card-on-file for repeat customers
  • Chargeback dispute management
  • Employee roles and permissions
  • Inventory with bulk upload, and a customer directory

Selling online too? Ecommerce is available through hosted checkout, WooCommerce and BigCommerce.

Funding

Deposits arrive the next day by default. Same-day funding is available with an evening batch.

Devices

Handhelds, countertop units with printers, a customer-facing screen, and an 11" POS. Compare them on the devices page.

What the program costs.

Two numbers to know, plus the subscription for whichever device you choose.

$9.95/month
Edge program fee, starting in your fourth month (merchants boarded from October 1, 2026)
from $24.95/month
Payanywhere software subscription, per device
~4%
How much higher the card price is than the cash price

One free Payanywhere Smart device per location for qualifying merchants through December 31, 2026. Requires a $5 monthly service fee and a $25 monthly minimum. Software subscription applies.

Your merchant agreement lists every other fee, and George walks through each line with you before you sign.

Who it isn't for.

North's own guidance is that Edge isn't a fit for medical and dental practices built on insurance co-pays. If most of your patients pay a co-pay set by their insurance plan, two posted prices don't work the way they do at a counter. We'd rather tell you that on the first call than after you've signed.

Two places need extra care. Puerto Rico restricts cash discounting, so we don't set up programs there. In Louisiana, the August 2026 debit law hasn't been tested against two-price postings, and we review every Louisiana setup before launch.

One more thing to know: no card brand endorses Edge or any cash discount program. What keeps a program on the right side of card-brand rules is the setup — the card price posted, the notice displayed, the terminal configured correctly. That's the work we do with you.

Who we are in all this.

FeeSlicers is an independent Sales Partner of North. We're not North, and we're not a bank or a processor. North provides the program, the devices and the processing; we sell and set it up, and George Fattal is who you talk to from the first call through setup. Processing is through North, a registered ISO of BMO, Citizens, The Bancorp Bank and FBB Bank.
